Never Enough
02:30
|
|||
Why is it never enough?
Why is it never enough?
I see a vision through my hands
I make it perfect through the heat waves and the sand
It’s always just out of my grasp
Forever floating on a lake made of glass
Why is it never enough?
Why is it never enough?
To hold, to breathe
To see the good in front of me
So take me with you where you’re going
To cosmic colors of the day
It’s all around its ever growing
If I can get out of my way
Why is it never enough?
Why is it never enough?
To hold, to breathe
To see the good in front of me
Settle in settle down
We’re all in it for the ride any how
Sit tight Steady now
We’re all in it for the ride

Other Side
03:04
|
|||
I’ve been staring at the clock on the wall
I’ve been wondering does tomorrow come at all?
Holding on to time, my body and I
I’ve been gazing in the eyes of a friend
We’ve been laughing at the weight
At the end
How we’re holding on too tight
And no one knows what's wrong or right
If I die tonight and there’s nothing on the other side
I know that it would be alright
I hope that it would be alright
Will I care about the pearls on the gate
Will I dwell on the life that I made
A whistle in the wind
Do I come back again?
If I die tonight and there’s nothing on the other side
I know that it would be alright
I hope that it would be alright
I’ve been dreaming about my soul taking shape
Growing wings and flying away
There’s nothing I can do, we’re heading for the blue

Your Garden
03:27
|
|||
It really doesn’t hurt anymore
Lead me to the sky like a bird
I thought I’d lost my way keeping score
I was in the ring, I was on the floor
Isn’t it strange I thought it would pain me to think about you and I
You
I thought I heard your voice at the door
You used to knock me down with your words
I was on the fence but now I’m sure
I’m sitting on a memory so different than before
Isn’t it strange I thought it would pain me to think about you and I
You
I could never be what you wanted
I could never be your garden
I swam out to sea, started floating
I could never be what you wanted
It really doesn’t hurt anymore
Because I am someone different than before

Moonlight, stay with me
I can feel you moving on so quickly
Tomorrow comes willing
I’m not sure it will be so forgiving
I can’t taste the skin of a shadow
I can’t place this feeling in my head
I won’t hold the hand of tomorrow
Hour glass of falling sand
Longing, Lovely
Watching as it passes through my body
Laughing, tearing
Let me be a witness to the healing
I can’t taste the skin of a shadow
I can’t place this feeling in my head
I won’t hold the hand of tomorrow
Hour glass of falling sand

Florida Poem
01:21
|
|||
In the mangrove trees the upside down jellyfish lay on the floor
Pulsating in a neon glow
The barracuda glides on top of the brackish water
Where the Florida salt water meets the fresh
This oasis exists on the canal by my home
I lower my canoe down the dock onto the intercostal way
Where the winds can carry you right out to sea
Take a left but veer right to avoid
The tugboats and water taxis that share the path
Another right past the old folks home
Where the sunbathers leathered and bronze sit and gab
About the clouds blocking the rays
A little further under the canopies the only chatter
Comes from the parrots and the fiddler crabs
Sinking by the hundred into their homes as I pass by
I’m alone but not alone surrounded by sentient beings
Clustered in groups of their likeness
The schools of needle nose fish and the flocks of parrots
The juvenile butterfly fish paired off for life
Even the barnacles band together
Holding tightly to the hull of my canoe
I am on my own but I am never alone

Come down holy water
Sink into these roots
Wash away the fire
And the ashes too
See the oleander
Coming into bloom
We take care of each other
This I’ll do for you
Whats it going to take to show you
Like the saline hits the vein
Like the pavement feels the rain
I am stuck on you today
Let me show you
I’m not leaving
Bring out all your demons
Give the dark some light
I’m not afraid to see them
You can’t just love and hide
Is it blurry like the tears you
Hide inside your eyes
I promise I won’t leave you
Behind
I am here to stay
I am here
Like the saline hits the vein
Like the pavement feels the rain
I am stuck on you today
Let me show you
I’m not leaving

They’re selling oranges on all the highways
And I’m heading south on sunrise
There goes the Jezebeles you and I knew her well
But we always said we’d leave this place
Caffeine overdrive, I-95
I loved you like I was a kid
Could we skip the rules and burn out like we used to
Who’s going to be the first to reach out
Florida Girl
It seems like you’re in another world
In St Augustine there are limestone walls
Built all around to keep you safe
Was I a raging sea, engulfing everything
Spinning out and leaving you behind
Florida Girl
It seems like you’re in another world
I know that we can’t go back
Whats already been has passed
A decade come and gone between
Is it true that time heals everything
All the Banyon trees have shallow roots
They fall heavy in the southern wind
There’s nothing like the sound of the wind when it howls
Maybe I’ll go home

Face and Figure
02:41
|
|||
In shades of every color
Light glides around the room
The beauties overwhelming
Can you see it too?
The house is filled with orchids
They pour ore ever vase
A scene to be devoured
A holy place
I’m not a face
I’m not a figure
I’m not a number or a sign
A glance outside the window
A gaze into myself
A spark becomes an ember
If I were someone else
I’m not a face
I’m not a figure
I’m not a number or a sign
I’m not a name
I’m not a mind
I am a witness

Minute Too Soon
03:04
|
|||
I'm staying in today
I've got to rest and stay away
From the rain coming from the north
Here it comes, it feels so close
Are you where the sun is?
Are you where the skies blue?
I can see you now in the white light new
Saying nothing comes a minute too soon
I'm overwhelmed by thoughts
Would it help to tear them out
stay in the moment now
Rest in place or scream out loud
Are you where the night is?
Are you in the quiet?
I can see you now in the backlit moon
Saying nothing comes a minute too soon
Are you where the suns been?
Are you in the mountains?
Are you with the morning?
Are you waiting for me?
I can see it now you’re coming through
Saying nothing come a minute too soon
